Differences Between a Toaster Oven and Toaster

Toasters have come a long way since being introduced years ago and are slowly being fazed out with the multi-functional use of toaster ovens. Both have many similarities, but the differences is what sets them both apart. While both can typically be found in most everyone's kitchen, some may only need one over both.

A toaster is pretty singular, which means it serves one purpose mainly. For toasting bread and in some cases bagels, these have been pretty basic since being introduced many years ago. Some are more elaborate than others with higher-end features such as an LED display, multi-functional settings, different sized slots, and much more.

Toaster ovens have much more than a singular use with many models giving you the functionality of a toaster and small oven. To operate, there more of the same as operating an oven with temperature settings, timers, baking pan, rack, and other similar features.

Probably the biggest differences between a toaster oven and toaster is the price. Toasters are much cheaper than standard toaster ovens and in some cases can be found for as little as $20. The cheapest toaster ovens will set you back around $40, but can reach as high as $200 - $300 depending on what's found on-board.
