Facebook Town Hall Makes it Easier to Find Local Lawmakers in the US

Facebook has been really busy lately with the launch of two recent additions to their multi-billion dollar social media platform. In an attempt to make it easier for US users to locate local lawmakers, they launched Town Hall which does just that.

Recently launched Town Hall made it to the US platform on Monday and aims to make a bigger presence with a different subset of their typical users. With the bulk of Facebook's users in the range of 18-24 years, Town Hall would more popular with an older age group helping to extend their outreach.

Currently, there are more than 150 of the largest cities in the US with plans of adding more in the future. Users can search the database and find local state and federal representatives based on their geographical location. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has pledged the political angle will become more of a focus over the years which has been something that wasn't, until now.

Town Hall will be something similar to what was rolled out during the last presidential election. The most notable uses of the former feature was to help voters create a voting plan and follow and learn more about their prospective candidates.

Due to the success, the feature was launched and will become a mainstay on the world's largest social platform with the intent of adding more feature in the future.

You can see more from Mashable which details much more about Facebook's Town Hall.
